Terms commonly used in filter coffee brewing and in MCL
Bani¶
Banibeans, a roaster from Slovenia, know for very light roasts.
CC¶
Coffee Collective, most commonly, but has also be seen used for CoCi and Coffee Chronicler.
CM¶
Carbonic Maceration, an anaerobic processing method that replaces air with CO2, letting the whole coffee ferment in sealed tanks or barrels.
CoCi¶
Coffea Circulor, a norwegian roaster.
GH¶
General hardness, typically in ppm as CaCO3.
GV¶
Gesha Village, a coffee estate near Gori Gesha, from where the Gesha varietal stems.
Illegal¶
Understood to be coffees not allowed in competitions, typically infused or co-fermented with non-coffee plant-matter (eg fruit or herbs).
KH¶
Carbonate hardness, typically in ppm as CaCO3.
MCL¶
Mystery Coffee League, a community of coffee enthuasiast with a monthly friendly competition.
PB¶
Pink Bourbon, a varietal. Can also be used for peaberry, but very rarely.
ppm¶
Parts per million.
Prady¶
The person behind Mood Trap Coffee Roasters, known for particularly light roasts.
TM¶
Typica Mejorado, a varietal.
TPC¶
The Picky Chemist, a roaster from Belgium, known for very light roasts.
